Recently, I had a three-day birthday bash; My bf decided to go all out this year and celebrate me with copious amounts of food, drinks, and late-night laughter (let’s just say I’ve got some big shoes to fill for his next bday). We had Mexican food/margs on Friday, a spa day Saturday morning, followed by an intimate friend dinner, and then on Sunday we brunched HARD. I had an amazing weekend, but one of the most memorable moments was at the day spa. Yup, I spent the morning getting pampered with a glass of bubbly and a private lunch by the pool, followed by some fun conversation with my nail tech.
After my massage, I walked inside the massive spa shower and attached to the wall was a eucalyptus spray bottle; I already had been using eucalyptus in my shower, but only when I was super sick.
And then it hit me – I don’t need to be deathly ill or at a fancy spa to enjoy the benefits of eucalyptus. I can enjoy this easy hack anytime. Also, the spray bottle technique is way stronger than putting oil drops directly from the dropper into the shower or placing eucalyptus leaves on top of the shower head (plus it’s so hard to find fresh leaves and you have to change them biweekly).
Did I mention that the spray bottle DIY method takes seconds to create?
The Materials and Steps
I bought a glass spray bottle (most people buy plastic bottles without realizing that eucalyptus eats away plastic), distilled water, and eucalyptus oil. Then I mixed 25 drops per 2oz of water because I wanted it to be strong (reduce drops of oil for milder scent). I like to get the shower nice and steamy and then spray the bottle in a downward direction on the wall (never towards the face directly). Shower, relax, and breathe in. That’s all you have to do.
